I agree with you here Viven addictions can tear apart familes and take peoples jobs away. So if we would put restrictions on this maybe it would help to lessen these awful results of addictions. We would have to go about this the right way and not be too extrememly strick on drinking laws. Otherwise there may be an uproar of unrest amoungst U.S. citiznes.
Letting the government oversee the trade of these drugs is a good point. By letting them control and regulate the trade of these items it will lessen the violence that is right now associated with illegalized drugs. Example drug wars (like Jake said)
It is unfortuante but true, many people were taken advantage of at the time of prohibition. Drinking was and still is a very expensive habit to feed. At the time of prohibition mobsters and others who provided the alcohol knew this and would take those adicted to alcohol for all they had.
Now that America had shown their imperialistic power every other country wanted to challenge them. Becuase they had this huge target on their back the U.S. was forced to continually become involved in other conflicts that were either started by us or other countries.
Without thefood reforms food would still be being made very cheaply and most of the time it would not be very sanitary. There would not be the regulations that manufactures would have to follow, they would cut coners that would cut down not only on cost to manufacture it but the quality of the products.
It goes both ways sometimes bussiness owners will push their workers to their breaking point. Too bad for them they don't realize what has happend in the past. Workers will eventually rebel when they realize that the bussiness owner doesn't own them. The owner needs them to even be able to have a bussiness. Maybe these bussiness owners should check out this site to learn about what could potentially happen to their workers http://www.academicamerican.com/
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
