Pros: Prevent things like Identity theft

You would know where you personal information is going when you buy things on the internet.

The government would ensure that online businesses handle user’s personal information properly.

Cons: Some business already regulate themselves and don’t need any help from the government.

Computer software’s can scramble credit card numbers to help from being stolen or misused.

I personally agree with the idea of putting regulations on the internet. I can see the other side of the argument, but in the end it just protects you more. I believe that if we regulate the internet it would help to prevent credit/debit card number theft.
